2018 Workday Schedule
Workdays will be LIMITED this growing season as all members are asked to join one of the 20 committees we offer. A Community Committee Planning Day will be posted for April so all members can come out and meet fellow members and Chairs of committees. Members who sign in, meet their chair and commit to a committee will receive an hour of service.
What to bring: FBGA ID, gloves, sunscreen
FBGA will provide water for volunteers and tools needed
A new construction committee will focus on repairs to the Children’s Garden and Champions of Courage Garden. In addition, a scent garden is being added to the COCG. We will pave the area, build benches and a table for wheelchair accessibility.
Children’s Garden repairs: new raised beds, entrance arbor, repair or replace wood slats (fencing).
The Berm Project
A new berm will be erected in the front/main parking area as you enter the garden space. Planting on this berm will begin after the berm is created, shaped. With the assistance of the machinery in the work area we are hoping to mold the shape, then the soil/compost must be raked by volunteers.
Grass seed will be planted, shrubs and trees installed.
It is the hope of this administration that volunteers working on The Habitat, Landscape Design & Landscape Maintenance Committees as well as anyone else interested will assist in this endeavor.
